My name is Dave Noftz, and I’ve been a hobbyist woodworker since 2003. I take big pieces of wood and cut them into smaller furniture-shaped ones in my basement shop in the Chicago suburbs. Over the last few years, I’ve had some Big Thoughts (for me, anyway) about the whys and what-fors of the craft, so I started this blog to share them. I’m probably making this sound a bit more dramatic than it really is… it’s not like I went on a vision quest or walked the Earth like Caine in Kung Fu, but if you’d like to imagine me wandering the desert and getting involved in random adventures, I’m cool with that.
